This is one of the classics of anime and it was the series that really established cyberpunk as a viable genrea in anime. Throw in the fact that the Crisis series was part of the movement to modernize anime styles and techniques and you can see why this series will always be considered a landmark piece of animation and a fan favorite.
        Briefly, the plot line revolves the four knight sabers (Linna, Priss, Silia, Nene) fight with a global industrial superpower (Genom) which is out to take over or destroy the world (depending on who you are speaking to in upper management) with its seemingly harmless robots (boomers). The first OVA series (Crisis) went for 8 episodes before its untimely ended (mostly they did not finish the plot lines). A second OVA series (Crash) was done later to resolve many of loose ends left over from the Crisis series.
        The one thing of interest is that a new TV series based on the OVA has come out in Japan in the last year. While it is based loosely on the old BGC series, it takes the place of the OVA series and the time line, plots line, and the character designs (one exception being Priss who did not escape entirely unchanged) are entirely different. I am always looking for cels from the original series.
