I like this series a lot for some reason. The plot on it is good (though predictable) and animation quality is decent, but I would definitely not put it as one of the top ten best anime OVA or series put out in the last 10 years. Still, it is a good series and it is well worth watching. The series is composed of 3 OVAs.

        The plot line is a sort of  coming of age story of the hero (Tomoru Shindo) through conflict and a greater destiny. Tomoru is dissatisfied with path that life has laid out for him. To try to escape this reality, he is constantly escaping into video games (Pysch-Sim) and fantasies of the past glories of humanity. What he does not know is that his normal laid out life is soon going to be thrown into chaos, when a warrior from the relativistic future (Orgun) begins to warn him of a dire threat to the earth through Pysch-Sim and his dreams. These warning are accompanied by the receipt by the military of alien message giving instructions on the production of battle armor that far exceeds anything humanity on earth had yet develop. This battle suit is built by a Michi, a young Earth Defense Forces Intelligence researcher, just in time for Tomoru to join with the suite and protect the protect the city from an invasion by another of these battle suits.  The secret behind Orgun's connection to the Tomoru and the earth will be played out as the desperate struggle for earth's survival begins.
